Enjoy our 1970's modern home nestled in the Castkill Moutains. The house is privately situated adjacent to NY state protected forest with beautiful mountain views.
The open kitchen faces the mountains and is equipped with a professional Bertazzoni range, All Clad cookware, Japanese chef’s knives, a Mochamaster coffee pot, burr grinder, food processor, water kettle, toaster, and all the cooking and baking essentials you will need.
In the main living area, southern exposures and a double-sided fire will keep everyone warm in the winter, whether you’re in the living room or sitting at the dining table. Guests have access to an Apple TV connected projector, an iPhone speaker jack, and decks of cards and board games for slow mornings and long evenings. The living area nearly doubles in size in the spring, summer and fall months with use of the massive front deck. Guests have access to a charcoal grill, lounge chairs and an outdoor living area with an open fire pit.
The two larger bedrooms have king-size beds, and the third bedroom has two twin beds. Each room has individual thermostats and closet space to unpack your clothes and store your luggage.
In both bathrooms you will find Aesop hand products and fresh, white linens. The larger en-suite bathroom has a shower and tub and the guest bathroom has a stall shower.

Guests have access to the entire home and its surrounding property.
We will not interact with guests directly during their stay, but we are available 24/7 to answer any questions that may come up.
15 minutes or less to: the Pines restaurant, Phoenicia Diner, Woodstock Brewing, Peekamoose Restaurant and Tap, downtown Phoenicia, Belleayre Ski Resort, hiking trailheads for Panther Mtn and Tremper Mtn, and some great summer watering holes.
20 minutes to: Westkill Brewing, Urban Cowboy Lodge, Scribner’s Lodge, downtown Hunter, and Hunter Mountain ski resort
30 minutes to: Deer Mountain Inn, downtown Woodstock, and hiking at Kaaterskill Falls.
In the winter, you must have a vehicle with 4-wheel drive to access the road up to the house as well as our driveway. Guests may park their cars in the driveway or underneath the carport.
This house is up a mountain and in the woods, so keep in mind:
- Winter: there are several steep hills on the road to access the property— the road and our driveway will be plowed regularly when it snows, but you will need 4-wheel drive in the winter to access the house.
- Summer: the house does not have AC but is kept cool at night by the surrounding forest. Open windows, but do keep the screens on doors and windows closed during the summer!
- We do not accept any pets in the house, no exceptions
- The internet rarely goes out (3-4 times annually), and there is cell service on the property, so you will only truly disconnect if you actively choose it.
