This studio offers a unique country experience! 400 sq ft open room has 1 Queen bed, a sitting area with a sofa-love seat and a wing-backed chair plus another full sofa. A dining table with 4 chairs, microwave & mini- refrigerator and coffee pot for your comfort while here. The full bathroom has a large shower with family style toiletries. A private wood deck with Adirondack chairs offers quiet afternoons. This self-catering studio is across the courtyard from Heartstone Lodge.
Staying on this property is a fun country adventure & not your hotel experience! The vistas are beautiful. The 250 acre farm, South River Highlands, has knockout vistas, terrific hikes and across from the 7 mile Chessie Trail. Downtown Lexington is only 4 miles away with Excellent restaurants, gift shops, art galleries, coffee shops & many historic interests.
You won't be disappointed choosing to stay here! In addition to the absolutely gorgeous views and magical land are overnight accommodations to suit a variety of travelers. Authentic log cabins from c.1775 to early 1900's have been reconstructed with modern amenities and add-ons i.e. decks, bedrooms, kitchens etc. These cabins and land have privacy and stunning views of 2 mountain ranges on 250 acres of hay fields and forest above the Maury and South Rivers. A/C and heat. Truly magical!
In addition there are 2 guest suites within The Heartstone Lodge, a remodeled and re-purposed dairy barn, plus 3 modern comfortable studios adjacent to Lodge that are perfect for individuals attending retreats, couples, groups and family gatherings in addition to weddings and receptions. A beautiful 65 ft grapevine covered pergola with fish pond fountain, meditation garden, fire-pit and lots of nooks with cozy spaces to relax.
Each of the cabins have been brought to this land from other places in Virginia and what is now called West Virginia. Loving care was given to each unique cabin as more modern additions were added. Attention was given to adding top quality, very comfortable bedding plus totally outfitting each accommodation with family style bath toiletries, coffee/tea/cocoa, dishes, kitchenware and everything you could need for a several day to one month stay here.
This is a nature preserve and a place of restoration, where joy, happiness and appreciation of the natural environment comes naturally and easily. There is no wi-fi though cell phone service is rarely a problem. Each cabin, each studio and the guest rooms in The Lodge are totally unique. Something for everybody. You'll leave here at peace with life and be planning your return.
