The Oakes is a large, comfortable room with a private entrance, brand-new bathroom and kitchenette, and all the coziness of a mountain cabin. This unit is close to main parking, the hot tub and pool, greenhouse, frog pond, and main house. It’s very quiet, as it’s not connected to any other units. HeartSpace Ranch is an idyllic property nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. At 3000 feet elevation, this gorgeous 27 acre property hosts a wonderful diversity of trees, plants and wildlife. Surrounded by pine forest, there are also an abundance of Madrones and Manzanitas, as well as Aspen, fruit trees, roses, and many other wildflowers. Native wildlife include deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, lizards, frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, and many others.
Situated near the Tahoe National Forest, we’re just 5 minutes by car from Scotts Flat Lake (or a 20 minute hike), 15 minutes from downtown Nevada City, 20 minutes to the Yuba River, and less than an hour from Sugar Bowl ski resort.

Guests may enjoy exploring the property including communal access to the pool, jacuzzi, gardens, hammock, rope swing, slack line, bocce ball court, etc. We have kayaks and paddle boards available on a first come, first served basis. Other features include easy access to hiking and mountain biking trails, Scotts Flat Lake, Deer Creek, and the incredible natural beauty that abounds here in Nevada County, CA.
We are located in a quiet, rural, forested area. Close to Scotts Flat Lake and lots of hiking and mountain biking trails.
Please be mindful of neighbors and make sure to stay on our property and on or near established trails in the adjacent public lands. Also please respect quiet times from 9:00pm to 8:00am.
Also note that we are surrounded by forest and there have been sightings of California Black Bears, rattlesnakes, scorpions, and the occasional Mountain Lion. Please use common sense and caution to ensure everyone stays safe at all times.
Here at HeartSpace we strive to provide a tranquil environment for guests to relax and commune with the land. We do have 2 kids that run around the property and need a certain amount of excitement each day. We make sure that they are quiet in the morning and evening.
We ask that you please read and follow our House Rules so all of our guests have a wonderful experience during their visit.
Two vehicles maximum per rental.
No Unapproved Visitors.
Only registered guests are allowed on the property. If you would like to invite a friend, please inquire with your hosts to see if we can accommodate extra visitors.
Hot Tub and Pool.
Shower before using the Hot Tub.
Please refrain from using lotions or sunblock when enjoying the hot tub.
No glass in the pool area.
No diving! The pool is 5’ at its deepest.
There is no fence around the pool so please keep young children monitored at all times.
Please lock your car at night and make sure there is no food or gum in your car.
Don’t leave bags of trash or any food outside the unit at night. If you have trash, let us know and we will take it for you.
Checkout.
Please make sure that all garbage is in the trash can or bagged up.
Please wash any dishes you have used during your stay.
Leave the key inside the unit and send us a message when you are leaving.
