Live "Island Style" in our rural updated 2 BR/1 BA cozy stilt waterfront home on a huge corner lot at the end of a private road. Launch your kayak just out the back door and be out on the St. Martins or Salt River in minutes where you can often see dolphins and catch redfish, snook, seatrout and blue crabs. Clean them at your fish cleaning station. Harvest scallops in the nearby Gulf waters. Kayaks and crab traps are available for your use.
Watch the sun rise over the water to the east, enjoy the screened porch for watching birds on the marsh, and finish your day by watching the glorious sunset over the water to the west. If you’re lucky, you may see manatees or dolphins in front of the house. Birdwatching here is excellent. Serene, peaceful, and full of wildlife, you’ll find our house and this area to be the perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural world around you.
High speed Wi-fi is provided, along with streaming tv options via Roku. Our compact kitchen is well equipped, and there is also a gas grill available. We have a regular drip coffee maker as well as a Keurig for your use- so bring your favorite coffee or enjoy the supplied coffee. Grab your cup and watch the marsh wake up from your screened-in porch. We will have all of the basics you need for a comfortable homey stay. Spices and other essentials are supplied should you want to cook and dine at home.
Extra touches like memory foam mattresses make it feel like home. Our comfortable home is ideally suited for 2 guests, but can sleep a maximum of 4 people. This romantic location is ideal for a couple, but can fit up to four if you really like each other. :)
Our neighborhood is very quiet and safe, as we are at the end of a short private road used only by neighborhood residents.
We are within walking distance to John Brown Park, a large public boat landing for small boats. We have a small boat house for your small skiff/jon boat. NO v-hull boats or boats longer 16' can be accepted on the property. A marina for larger boats is approx. a mile away where our guests can launch and store boats for a very reasonable charge.
We have several different kayaks for your use- two sit-on-top kayaks, a tandem kayak, an older sea kayak (it moves well through the water!), and two traditional sit-in 12-13’ kayaks great for our waters here, or the local springs. We provide our personal kayaks and gear to our guests, and there should always be several available to you. We also provide crab traps for your use, along with tips on catching, cleaning, and cooking them if desired!
Ozello is a small community of friendly people, about a 10-15 minute drive from Crystal River. Three restaurants are within just a few miles of our house. If you enjoy "Old Florida" living, you will enjoy your stay in Ozello.
Please note- maximum of four guests! The house is small, with two beds total. With the small road and one lane drive into our house, we can only allow a maximum of two vehicles. Sorry, no animals pets due to owner's severe allergies (This is also our home). With all of the wood pilings, decking, stairs, boat house, etc, there is no smoking and no vaping allowed on the property.
The crab traps and kayaks are for your use, and you are 100% responsible for yourself using the equipment. The host/owner assumes no responsibility for your actions in using the kayaks, crab traps, etc, and you are expected to follow boating safety regulations when using the kayaks, The owner shall remain harmless in case of an accident or injury from these uses. Through normal use, if these items are damaged please let owner or property manager know right away so we can take it out of service. No swimming from the dock is permitted.
Due to the small size of the house and the quiet neighborhood, no parties or gatherings are permitted. Absolutely NO unregistered guests allowed on property; please ensure all members of your party are named on the reservation. No children under 8 years old without prior authorization. Please contact owner if you have questions about this.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any pets/animals in the home, due to severe allergies. A damage charge of $250 for extended cleaning will be assessed for any unauthorized animal.
We look forward to hosting you. We respect your privacy, but the property manager is just across the way should you need anything, and is a wealth of information on local activities, tours, fishing, and restaurants.
While our neighborhood is very safe, we have added outdoor cameras at the entrances to enhance your feeling of security and a Ring doorbell. There are no other cameras or monitoring devices. We respect your privacy, and you can feel at home in your own space on the water.
