"The Nest" is a 4 year old open concept, entertainment home which sits on a greenbelt of mountain meadow protected forest in Award winning Big Canoe Community with paths and hiking just out the front door and boasts a bocce and cornhole court, giant wall scrabble, ping pong, shuffleboard table, Giant Jenga, darts, Xbox and Wii, Tiki Toss, board games and puzzles all for your entertainment pleasure.
The Nest is a step above the typical home rental with professionally designed interiors featuring inspiration and pieces from Restoration Hardware. We have spared no expense by offering high end furniture, original artwork, Belgian Linen duvets, high quality plush towels, quality cookware and appliances, and Beekman soaps and shampoos for your pleasure.
There is a wood burning fireplace on the mainlevel with free firewood (just bring starter bricks). Also a faux log fireplace on the terrace level that starts with a flip of the switch. Lastly there is a propane fire pit on the deck just off of the spacious and inviting open concept kitchen, den, and dining room. Next to the fully stocked kitchen is the windows galore sunroom overlooking the mountain meadow with seating for 8 at the gaming table for those 1000 piece puzzles or board game. Just off of the living room is the well appointed Master Suite with views of the greenbelt boasting a very large, amazing master bath with soaker tub, walk in shower, dual vanities, and large walk in closet. Also on the main level is the cozy queen bed guest room with a full bath featuring walk-in shower.
Heading downstairs to the Terrace Level you will find another King Master bedroom with full bath, a double queen bed bedroom which shares full bath and another luxurious bedroom with a queen and double bed and full bath which is shared by the 4 twin bunk room.
Also on the terrace level enjoy the amazing game room boasting a flip of the switch fireplace, cozy seating area for watching the big game or playing Xbox or Wii using the large Roku Flatscreen, the 9 foot shuffleboard table, ping pong table, giant wall scrabble, gaming table and board games.. The outdoor gaming area features bocce court, corn hole, dart board, Tiki Toss, gaming and dining table, seating section and loungers all overlooking the beautiful mountain meadow greenbelt.
You will have access to all of award winning Big Canoe's activities including indoor/outdoor swimming, pontoon boating/canoeing/kayaking/paddle boarding, spa and fitness center, 20+ miles of hiking with waterfalls, 27 holes Championship Golf, 12 multi surfaced indoor/outdoor tennis courts, 4 Pickleball Courts, 4 Bocce Courts, Multi-million dollar Clubhouse featuring Black Bear Pub, parks with playsets for the little ones, jogging paths, ball fields, basketball court and jeep trail featuring 2 Waterfalls, settlers cabin picnic areas. The Swim Club on Lake Disharoon is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through typically the last weekend of July, then Saturdays and Sundays until Labor Day. The Swim Club offers Spa water pool with oversized umbrellas, The Cafe at Lake Disharoon overlooking the pool and lake, swim lake with activities beach, rock waterslide, boating including canoes, kayaks and paddle boards all of which are free with your paid armband passes which can be purchased at the pool area. Wildcat pool area 2 minutes from the house and also accessible by the path beside the house including the kiddie activity pool is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Purchased pool passes are good for both pool areas.
The "Nest" is in the Wildcat area of Big Canoe surrounded by hiking and beautiful mountain meadows. Taking the paved path to the right next to the home will lead towards the Wildcat pool area with playground, bocce courts, basketball court, ball fields, cabana area with picnic tables and outdoor fireplace all next to the pool area. Taking the path the other way will lead to unpaved hiking trails and doggie parks. Bring your bikes, skateboards, scooters or rollerblades and enjoy the paved trails just beside the house.
You may enjoy visiting many of the wineries near Big Canoe including, Monteluce Vineyards (2 restaurants), Meichtry Vineyards, Ott Family Vineyards, and Buckley Vineyards all of which are within 20 miles of Big Canoe. Gibbs Gardens is a favorite attraction along with Amicalola Falls State Park which is the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi River about 15 minutes from Big Canoe. A fun half day outing is kayaking and tubing Cartecay River Experience and also apple orcharding heading toward Ellijay on Hwy 52. Lastly don't forget Burts Pumpkin Farm in the Fall months and shopping at North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville.
